2012: The Big-Screen Smartphone Era?

Gone is the year for ‘Retina Display’ iPhones or phones which have mutant photo-capturing abilities. I welcome you to the era of ‘frigging large’ screen smartphones!

Be ready to sell used phones when your heart wants you to!

If you think you have enough reason to gloat because you have a smartphone that has a 3- to 4-inch screen, you need to think things over. Allow me to crush your pride and glory into smithereens: Kiss your darn small-screen phone goodbye because this year, we pave the way for a whole new category in the smartphone market competition: Phone-Tablet hybrids, those with really big screens.

As of the moment, there is only one smartphone that fits into that category. And that is AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy Note. Because of its 5.3-inch screen, this might mean another shift in the industry standards of how a smartphone should look.

As a matter of fact, the device is similar to a small tablet. It even includes a stylus pen which you can use to manipulate it. But don’t you worry; it still has the same functionality that you can expect from a smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is uniquely shaped. Unlike the soft curves of other handsets, it has an almost squarish form- true in its testament of being a half-blooded tablet. The only reason to be peevish about is that merely holding it already fills your hand. Over all, Galaxy Note tips in 5.78 inches tall, 3.27 inches wide and 0.38 inches thick. A really big yet thin device.

Its screen is also impeccably made, boasting of a Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800. This pixel density will definitely look good on the large screen. And that means close-to-perfect experience in gaming visuals, or watching movies. I think that’s a good reason to sell used cell phones for cash!

But not a lot of people are open to the idea of a phone with a large screen. Comments range from amused acceptance to skeptical defiance. It just seems natural for the people to be apprehensive of an electronic device that looks so big to be used as a phone. I can sense the awkwardness in the situation.

If you are not sure where the Galaxy Note truly careens, we are not sure either. No one really knows if it’s a phone that is made to look like a tablet or a tablet that is made to look like a phone. We don’t know what the character of the Samsung Galaxy Note is. Maybe it’s among those gadgets that overstep the lines.

The stylus is a nice addition to the Samsung Galaxy Note. It is perfect for taking notes and spares you the hand-numbing act of typing away on a virtual keyboard. It imitates the personal experience of handwriting when you write down your notes as you would on paper using a built-in memo program.

Do you think Galaxy Note is worth another cell phone trade in? Go online now and look for ways to get cash for your used and old phone!
